What are the chances retail subscribers get shares in an IPO?
In general, most participants in the subscription process have an opportunity to be allocated shares. However, the number of shares allocated is not always equal to the number of shares subscribed. The allocation depends on the results determined by the exchange. For example, with less popular IPOs, if a user subscribes for 10 shares, they may receive all 10 shares. However, for highly sought-after IPOs with many subscribers, the allocated shares are usually much fewer due to the high demand.
