TASI Mid-Market Update — December 9, 2025
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark index Tadawul All Shares Index(TASI.SA) edged 0.3% higher in early Tuesday trade, supported by a 1.4% gain in Al Rajhi Bank(1120.SA). Gulf markets were largely muted, pressured by weaker oil prices and caution over the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook ahead of a widely expected U.S. interest rate cut this week.

Recent U.S. data showed that the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index met expectations, while consumer sentiment improved in December. In November, private payrolls recorded their steepest decline in over two-and-a-half years, although weekly jobless claims fell to their lowest level in three years. Markets now price in an 89% probability of a quarter-point rate cut at the Fed’s December 9–10 meeting, according to CME’s FedWatch Tool.
Oil prices, a key driver for Gulf markets, continued to ease after a 2% drop on Monday, amid ongoing monitoring of Russia-Ukraine peace talks, supply concerns, and the U.S. interest rate decision.
In corporate news, Consolidated Grunenfelder Saady Holding Co.(4147.SA) made its market debut, rising nearly 8% to an intraday high of 10.79 riyals per share, however, the gains have been pared.
