Options Trading with Cash Account
Sahm now supports options trading with cash accounts. Options can be traded directly without needing to upgrade to a margin account. Key rules are as follows:
1. Supported Transaction Types
Cash Account now supports long options trading (buy to open).
2. Trading Hours
Cash accounts do not currently support options trading during the pre-market session. The default trading session is Regular Trading Hours (RTH).
3. Options Expiration Rules
| Option Type | Status at Expiration | Treatment |
| Stock Options | In-the-Money (ITM) | Automatically closed out before market close |
| Stock Options | Out-of-the-Money (OTM) | Expire worthless |
| Index Options | In-the-Money (ITM) | Automatically exercised and cash-settled |
